Hume has completed and released our 2011/2012 Annual Report and Financials on the 17th October 2012. This has come in time for our Annual General Meeting on the 21st November and hardcopies have be sent out to all of our members. The Annual Report can be viewed online here.
Hume held our Annual General Meeting on the 21st November 2012. We had a great day with many of our tenants, contractors and partners in attendance to hear about our achievements over the past year and our future goals. Reports were heard from our Chairman of the Board, Tony Conides JP, AREI, our CEO, Nicola Lemon, and our Patron, Pat Martin OAM. Audited Financial Reports for the year ended 30th June 2012 were presented by our external auditor John Cheadle and accepted by our Members. Once the reporting was complete everyone sat back and enjoyed a special performance by the fantastic Vietnamese Dragon Youth Team dancers from Dongtam, followed by a Vietnamese style lunch.
Congratulations to Alex Binos and to all the other candidates who went through the training. On 17th October 2012, we held our Tenant Director Workshop with the great help of Adam West from NSW Federation of Housing Associations who developed and ran the workshop. Its aim was to review all the aspects of being a Director on Hume’s Board including being fully aware of their role and responsibilities. By the end of the workshop 3 of the 7 tenants decided to apply for position.
Nominations for the position closed on 31stOctober with Tenants’ Voice endorsing one nominee on 1st November and the Board of Directors electing Alex Binos on 20thNovember. In the next newsletter we will talk with Alex Binos to learn more about him and his new role.
