Hume secures Social Sector Support Funding
In late December Hume were awarded $150,000 Social Sector Fund Support, by Department of Communities and Justice as part of the $200 million support package for not-for profits announced by the NSW Government in August 2021.
The Support Fund payment will assist Hume to continue delivering services to the community amid increased demand during COVID-19 outbreaks and as we come out of lockdowns
The Support Fund is targeted at organisations where COVID-19 has led to either increased demand for services, reduced revenue or disrupted staffing.
The Support Fund grants are delivered flexibly to ensure charities and NFPs are supported through COVID-19 restrictions and recover and can continue to provide services to vulnerable people and communities in NSW.
Hume will be using the funds to specifically support the tenancy sustainment of a range of customers including those impacted by long-term homelessness, and customers experiencing domestic and family violence.
Our Community Cohesions teams will also have access to funds to support NDIS customers to access assessment and diagnosis fees, back-to-school vouchers for low-income families, a garden beautification program and a street clean-up program for communities living in metropolitan and regional locations.
