Chief Executive Officer Hume's CEO Nicola Lemon

Nicola is a CEO who is passionate about social justice and facilitating long lasting changes and improvements within communities through providing quality housing and social services to those in need. She is driven by the pursuit of implementing best practice, driving innovation for change and has been working hard to position Hume Community Housing as a leader in the housing sector.

During her past eight years at Hume, Nicola has led the organisation through a period of significant change. As a strategic partner to the Board, Nicola is responsible for driving and managing the organisation's growth, developing and delivering the strategic plan, development and implementation of continuous improvement programs, compliance regulation, stakeholder management, corporate partnerships and upskilling Hume's workforce so that the organisation reaches its full potential. As a result of operational and functional programs implemented under Nicola's leadership Hume has achieved Class 1 Registration status whilst focussing on their social missions and commitments to their customers. Nicola champions a customer orientated organisation which continuously consults and engages with customers and suppliers to deliver continual organisational and industry improvement in Hume's housing and support services.

Nicola's comprehensive business and community housing career has been accomplished through a variety of associations in the UK and Australia ranging from associations managing 4,500 to 70,000 properties. In all of her positions Nicola has been a driver for change, delivery and management of frontline housing and community development programs, organisational growth, improvement, compliance and regulation and development programs, establishing robust risk management systems and setting up group procurement structures.

Nicola's practical work experience is complimented by her academic background in Business Law, Housing Management and Leadership and Training.

Chief Operating Officer Hume's COO Julie Fernandez

Julie started at Hume in July 2011 in the position of Chief Operating Officer responsible for the Asset Management, Sustainable Communities and Partnerships, Neighbourhood and Customer Services portfolios.

Julie has an extensive local government background with a focus on the management of community service programs. Julie has managed teams of up to 80 plus staff ranging from early childhood professionals, community development program officers, administration officers and asset and maintenance professionals. Julie has also managed contracts for utilities, building services and repairs and also for large-scale recreation and leisure centre management contracts.

Julie has expertise in tendering out services and also completing tenders for services, funding and grants. Julie has developed annual budgets for a range of programs including income generation of over $15 million in fees and charges and managed expenditure for maintenance and capital works programs. Julie has experience in asset management and leasing of community buildings and partnership building, however, Julie’s key strength is her advocacy for customers and the leadership of teams to provide high quality frontline customer service.

Julie has lead the operations portfolio through a period of dynamic change and growth, resulting in improved customer service, collaboration with key stakeholders and partners to ensure innovative services and programs are delivered to the most vulnerable community members and embedded a strengths based approach to challenging our customers and community to work collaboratively on social justice issues and community cohesion projects.

Chief Financial Officer/ Company Secretary Hume's CFO Mark Connolly

Michael joined Hume as the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary in 2016. He is responsible for Hume's finance, IT, risk and compliance and business services activities.

He has over 20 years experience in the banking and finance industry with a particular focus in the areas of corporate finance, funds management and property investment banking. He has worked on a broad range of corporate transactions, including asset acquisitions and divestitures, corporate mergers and acquisitions, IPO's and secondary capital raisings. He has particular expertise in the areas of real estate investment banking and real estate funds management.

Michael has held senior commercial and finance roles in the not-for-profit sector. He is committed to ensuring sound financial practice and governance standards are embedded in the culture of not-for-profit organisations.

Michael has degrees in Commerce, Arts and Law. He is admitted as lawyer in the Supreme Court of NSW, is an Australian Chartered Accountant and Australian Certified Practising Accountant.

Executive Manager – People, Culture and CommunicationsHume's Executive Manager People and Culture Lisa Bonavia

Lisa commenced at Hume in September 2012 in the position of Executive Project Officer responsible for the development of organisational KPIs and performance measurement more broadly through the organisation. With a strategic and operational view of organisational performance, Lisa was awarded the position of Executive Manager – People, Culture and Communications in July 2014.

Lisa has over 20 years experience as a member of the executive across a range of sectors including IT, banking, professional services and not-for-profits, with organisations ranging in size from 50–3000  staff and volunteers working, locally, nationally and internationally.

Lisa has specific expertise in organisational development and performance, change management and communication supported by a Bachelor of Business from University of Technology, Sydney with majors in marketing and human resource management. Lisa’s key strength is her ability to influence organisations at both the strategic and operational levels, putting that strategy into action, supporting the resultant change and the achievement of higher employee engagement, greater efficiency and improved customer service.

Executive Manager – Asset Growth

Michael joined Hume in September 2016 as the Executive Manager, Asset Growth. Michael brings extensive government and commercial experience and knowledge in the areas of administration and delivery of Public Private Partnership projects, contract administration and asset management to Hume.

Michael has specific experience in the delivery of urban renewal projects across Australia and the management of housing portfolios to maximise economic, social and physical outcomes. Through this experience Michael has strengths in identifying and developing partnerships with key and likeminded organisations to grow housing opportunities for target customer groups.

Prior to joining Hume Michael was involved in the $700M Westwood Urban Renewal Project, the largest urban renewal project involving social housing ever undertaken in Australia.
