Registered NDIS Provider

Meet Rachael!

Rachael is a part of Hume's Housing for People with Disability Team and has been with Hume for just under two years.

The purpose of my role is to assist customers with their tenancy issues and well as making sure they have a safe and secure home to live in.

My job is important because I can assist our customers to live a comfortable and happy life just like everyone else.

My weekday usually starts with a quiet cup of tea and a little read of my book as well as a small play with my chocolate Labrador named Barney.

A typical day’s work for me includes sorting out home maintenance and repairs, liaising with customers and their guardians and SIL providers, and meeting with stakeholders to ensure all homes are safe.

Some of the more challenging aspects of my job include handling customer arrears and, on the rare occasion, complaints. I find ways to manage these challenges by listening and building rapport to be able to work effectively with everyone.

I work closely with Customer Service and Assets teams and depend on their support and collaboration to ensure I can do my job to help all customers in the homes.

What I love most about my work is being a part of an organisation that truly cares about their customers and their employees.

When I sign off after a busy day, I really like to read or crochet after organising a meal for dinner, this helps me unwind and relax.
